Welcome to the Gina Guthrie Scholarship Fund! Our mission is to award scholarships to deserving college students in memory of Gina Guthrie. Gina was a beacon of light to all who knew her and her passing from cancer in January of 2019 was a great tragedy. In order to keep her memory alive, this fund was started in her name with the goal of providing financial assistance to students in need. We awarded our first 2 scholarships in the summer of 2020 and have made 7 more awards since, bringing the total amount of scholarships provided to $22,500 in just 5 years. We recently finished accepting applications for our Spring 2024 award for graduating seniors in Cabarrus County, N.C. high schools, and are excited to announce Sindhura Chundi as the recipient of our latest award. She just finished her senior year at Hickory Ridge H.S. and is headed to UNC-Chapel Hill in the fall to pursue a degree in computer science. Freya is an amazing young woman who is in her final year at the University of Florida and is destined to do great things after.
Gina's Life
Gina lived life to the fullest during her time with us. She graduated from the University of Florida, traveled the world, started her own business, and created a family full of love. Her life serves as an example to all of us on how one should live, love, and laugh every chance they get and to make the most of each moment.
